Our Professional Duct Cleaning Process
We Do the Entire Job
Air duct cleaning is only part of the job. To do the job right, the whole system must be cleaned. If there are components that are left out of the cleaning process, your entire system may be re-contaminated. Allan & Rogers follows NADCA standards.
Push Pull Method and Negative Air
The push-pull method employs a high powered vacuum which is attached to your air handler to “pull” dust and debris. At the same time, compressed air is used to loosen and “push” build-up and debris back to the vacuum. The entire HVAC system is placed under continuous negative air pressure (from the vacuum). This prevents the spread of contaminants throughout your HVAC system and your home as they are loosened and become airborne. Typical vacuum is around 5000cfm with our push-pull method. Other methods, like a rotary brush system, produce vacuum airflow around 150-300cfm by comparison.
Pricing That is Too Good to be True
Watch out for pricing that is “too good to be true”. Some companies may quote only a base price for duct cleaning in their advertising and over the phone, adding charges once they are in your home. Also, the type of equipment used in the push-pull method is far superior to other methods, and will typically cost more. Finally, as we mentioned before - the entire HVAC system must be cleaned or the ducts and air can easily be re-contaminated in a short time. Be sure you know what you are paying for and that the job is done right.

Why Should You Consider Cleaning Your Air Ducts?
Because they get dirty! Even if you keep a super-clean house, everyday activities and pollutants in the air will cause your air ducts to become filled with dust and debris.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that it is important to hire a professional company to clean your ducts whenever…
- Dust or debris are visible on your supply registers indicating that these particles are actually being released into your home.
- You have sustained water contamination or damage to your home, which can result in mold growth
- Mold growth is visible on the inside of your air ducts or other components of your heating and cooling system. Or, if your home/business has had a positive test for mold.
Whenever anyone in your home suffers from severe athsma, or chronic allergies or illness, this may be a result of contaminants including mold spores, pollen, dust and other irritants circulating through your HVAC system and throughout your home or business.
Other factors that will increase the buildup of debris in your air ducts and air system include...
Pets. As our furry loved ones scratch they release dander and shed hair that can become airborne and enter air returns.
Cigars, Pipes and Cigarettes. Smoking releases tar and nicotine into the air and increases the need to clean your air system. Consider what you see when a picture frame of a smoker is removed from the wall. Imagine how that complicates regular dust and debris built up in air ducts.
Home Renovation or Remodeling Projects. Anyone who has worked with drywall knows that drywall dust manages to get on everything and in every room of the house – even when you do your best to keep the dust contained. Typically this dust has travelled through your air system. If the dust in your other rooms is visible on the furniture, consider how much of it has been left behind in the air ducts and other components of your air system. It is not uncommon to find dust in clients' air ducts years after completing a remodeling project. Even if your project doesn’t involve drywall, additional particles are added to the air as dust that has settled behind furniture for months is stirred up.
Benefits of Air Duct Cleaning
The buildup of contaminants on your blower and cooling coils leads not only to unhealthy air for your family to breathe, but will cause your system to work harder to do its job resulting in higher utility bills.
Indoor Air Quality
While dirty ducts don’t necessarily mean the air in your home or business is not healthy, it may still be contributing to larger health issues or re-circulating unwanted contaminants. This can cause complications and serious problems for people with respiratory problems, auto-immune disorders, or allergies. If you or someone in your family suffers from allergies, especially dust or pollen, you will see a dramatic change in symptoms by cleaning your air ducts and system.
If anyone in your home has any of these respiratory problems you definitely should clean your air ducts on a regular basis, and may want to consider the installation of a centralized air purification system.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 25% to 40% of the energy used for heating or cooling the average home is wasted. Debris and contaminants in the HVAC system cause it to work harder and ultimately shorten the life of your system. Even though filters are used and changed as directed, the HVAC system will still get dirty as a result of normal use.
When an HVAC system is clean, it doesn’t have to work as hard to maintain the temperature you desire. As a result, less energy is used, leading to improved cost-effectiveness.
With the removal of built up dust and debris from your coils, blower and other components, your AC unit will not have to work as hard to cool your home. This results in more consistent temperatures throughout your home, and lower electric bills.
Extend the Life of Your HVAC System
With cleaner air ducts and air system, the air flowing through your air conditioning unit is cleaner. We’ve seen this result in a dramatic reduction in maintenance expenses as well as AC repairs. In addition, the average life of the AC unit is extended.
Of course cleaning the air ducts lasts only so long and must be maintained to be effective. You may want to consider a centralized air purification system. Along with keeping dust and debris from your air and your system, it eliminates gases like carbon monoxide and radon, and other contaminants like mold and bacteria which has huge health benefits. And, the effect on the utility bills and maintenance of your system is long term. Ultimately, these systems pay for themselves over time.
